The Department of Defense (DoD) has tried to simplify the application requirements while maintaining high levels of cybersecurity for its potential contractors with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. While this has made the application process more straightforward, it is still a mandatory requirement for contractors who wish to shift to this standard.
CMMC is a more unified standard that takes requirements from earlier compliance models such as NIST SP 800-171 and Federal Acquisition Requirements (FAR) document 52.204-21. This new standard is focused on protecting two sets of information: Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
For more detailed information about the CMMC Compliance process, please refer to our CMMC Quick Overview.
As a CMMC Registered Provider Organization (CMMC-RPO), Kloud9 IT provides CMMC Consulting services to our clients who wish to adhere to one of the three CMMC Levels. We will perform a CMMC Gap Assessment, create a roadmap based on these results, implement the necessary solutions, and then perform a final CMMC Pre-Assessment. Our CMMC Consultation process and Pre-Assessment will more than adequately prepare you for the final Certification Assessment.
To achieve the CMMC Level you are aiming for, it will take several weeks to a year depending on your current cybersecurity protocols. By starting the process immediately you will stay ahead of the competition and win more valuable contracts from the DoD.
